Jonathan Hsu is an American venture capitalist, data scientist, and physicist, best known as a co-founder and General Partner at Tribe Capital, a data-driven venture firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
He joined Social Capital in 2014 as Partner and Head of Data Science, pioneering the use of quantitative methods in venture capital, including the development of the "Magic 8 Ball" framework for assessing product-market fit.
In 2018, he co-founded Tribe Capital alongside Arjun Sethi and Ted Maidenberg, focusing on leveraging data science to identify and amplify early-stage product-market fit.
